Email and Photos from ex-Cadet Nurse Beulah Tyler's Daughter, Wendy Settle

Dear Chet,

I believe that I added the last photo of my mother on my Beulah Tyler:

Flickr website soon after her 98th birthday (which was Christmas Day, 2022). My husband and I visited her in March 2023 - she was doing quite well, telling stories, walking with her rolling walker. We had her over for dinner several nights in our AirBnB. In May we made plans to drive from our home in Indiana to see her again in Pennsylvania, but early in June her health declined rapidly. She died peacefully on June 7th, 2023. She was almost 98 and a half years old. I had even bought a "half birthday" card for her! We're having what we are calling "a gathering" (she didn't want a funeral!) to bury her ashes on September 22nd in Staunton, Virginia at Thornrose Cemetery.

Ah, it's the end of an era, isn't it? So many WWII veterans and supporters have died. I want to thank you again for sending me the "Story of GI Joe" publicity photos to give to her. And for your kind interest and well wishes extended to my mom.

I wish you and your family all the best

Wendy Settle, daughter of ex-Cadet Nurse Beulah Tyler"

Side Note: Beulah was just as beautiful in 1945 as she was at 98 years of age.  What an amazing blessing she has been to her family and me, even though I never met her.
